Local Music Hubs, 2009 – 2013

mgrmusic.com was founded by Matthew Rusk, a guitar teacher based Exeter, Devon. In 2009 Matthew set up www.guitarlessonsexeter.com to generate himself guitar students having moved to the University of Exeter, by his second year at university he was teaching over 25 hours per week. With more enquiries coming in he brought onboard a second guitar teacher to teach the overflow of students.

Matthew in 2009 setting up Guitar Lessons Exeter.

Realising that there was a demand for music students from private music teachers Matthew launched www.guitarlessonsbelfast.com and www.singinglessonsbristol.co.uk, bringing onboard guitar and singing teachers to tutor the enquiries coming through in these locations. During 2011 and 2012 this network of teachers slowly expanded across the UK, with thousands of students taking drum, guitar, piano and singing lessons with teachers that Matthew worked with.

MGR Music Tuition, 2013 – present

In 2013 Matthew launched MGR Music Tuition, the formal business behind this network of teachers of 113 localised music tuition websites that by 2015 included over 150 music teachers and over 15,000 students nationally.

Matthew awarded the Express & Echo Entrepreneur of the Year 2016.

2016 saw Matthew win the Entrepreneur of the Year at the Express & Echo Business Awards, encouraging him to continue to develop this community of professional music teachers throughout the UK – to facilitate this Matthew launched the mgrmusic.com teacher database in early 2017 with the aim of creating the most up to date database of active music teachers located throughout the UK and Ireland.

To date over 32,500 students have enquired for music lessons, with the community growing to well over 350 music teachers – to apply to become part of this community please visit the Teacher Sign Up page.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1523966801093{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-right: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;padding-left: 25px !important;background-color: #ffffff !important;border-radius: 15px !important;}”]Incorporate Society of Musicians - Corporate Partnermgrmusic.com works with the Incorporated Society of Musicians as a Platinum Corporate Member.
