The results are in from our Best Guitar Blogs 2018 vote! Many thanks to our community of guitar students for providing their favourite guitar blogs from across the internet and commenting on why these blog posts rock. All 25 of these guitar blogs made the grade and will be awarded a “2018 Best Guitar Blog” badge (see more right). The blogs are listed in no particular order and cover a huge range of different aspects of the guitar. Everything from vintage guitar equipment, guitar lessons, reviews, interviews, news. We have written a few lines about what you can find on each blog and why they are must-read blogs for all guitarists.

Guitar Noise (guitarnoise.com) is a great blog if you are looking for Reviews or Lessons & damn they do both very well! The website was voted as the best online resource for guitar lessons, as voted by our guitar students. It is free to join and has a whole host of content for the reader or player to access at the touch of a button. It also features regular podcasts which is something not many guitar blogs are doing these days which in the opinion of our guitar students is great!

True Vintage Guitar Blog

True Vintage Guitar BlogThe True Vintage Guitar Blog (truevintageguitar.com/blog/) does exactly what it says on the tin. Voted by our users as one of the best blogs on the internet for articles on classic guitar equipment and vintage guitars. With in-depth articles exploring the history and impact of a guitar, the blog is supported by beautiful photography of the equipment. A must read if you are interested in vintage guitar equipment. Currently 11,000 Facebook followers.

i Heart Guitar Blog

i Heart Guitar Blog

The i Heart Guitar Blog (iheartguitarblog.com) was voted one of the best all-round guitar blogs for 2018 by our guitar student community. The blog provides detailed gear reviews, artist interviews as well as introducing our students to new music. It is was interesting to see that this blog was a real favourite with metal and more progressive guitarists, though certainly accessible for guitarists of all genre interests. Currently around 7,500 Facebook followers & 14,500 Twitter followers.

Truth in Shredding

The Truth in Shredding (truthinshredding.com blog was voted the best guitar blog for shredders. Our guitar community loved that the blog features so many different artists from around the world all coming together with a love for the shred! With nearly 6,000 Facebook followers and over 11 million views, Truth in Shredding has built up a significant following and community of guitarists itself. Even if shredding isn’t your thing just make sure you check out some of their blog posts and your jaw will drop at some of the talents on show.

GuitarHippiesNo list of the ultimate guitar blogs for 2018 would be complete without the GuitarHippies blog (guitarhippies.com). One of the world’s most popular guitar blogs it is really popular with our guitarist community. It has been a very long-standing blog, providing fantastic content on from lessons, gear posts, artist interviews to those all-important theory posts! The depth of information is truly endless, something really valued by the 40,000 social media followers that the blog has.

ClassicalGuitar.org

Classical Guitar (classicalguitar.org) has been voted as one of the best blogs for classical guitarists out there. This site provides up to date news, lessons & very useful tips and tricks for any beginner or ready established player. Don’t be put off by the black and white presentation of this website as what it lacks in colour it definitely makes up in content! Classical Guitar have nearly 9,000 followers on Facebook.

The Guitar Teaching Blog (theguitarteachingblog.blogspot.co.uk) was voted by our community of guitar teachers as one best online resources aimed at helping guitar teachers. It was described as “one of the most important and interesting blogs” on the internet by a professional guitar teacher. This blog discusses and gives advice on as a teacher what you should be teaching your students and provides a lot of example lessons that Matthew (Blog owner) has gone through himself. A great blog for guitar teachers and aspiring guitar teachers to read and follow.

The TrueFire (truefire.com/blog/) blog provides really good lesson content and doesn’t just focus on one genre. There is a whole host of genres from Jazz to Blues on show. It was voted as the best online resource for beginner students and has nearly 130,000 Facebook followers.

Gear reviews, tips on guitar maintenance, lessons, theory & extensive advice from other guitarists. If you prefer to have a bit of everything in one place and only be a part of one blog, make sure it’s this one. Guitar Answer Guy currently has over 8,000 Twitter followers.

Guitar Ventures (guitaradventures.com) was another blog that multiple beginner guitar students highlighted as a key resource that they used between guitar lessons. There are sections for beginner acoustic lessons, beginner electric & beginner classical lessons. With contributions form guitar experts the platform is an ideal resource for students to use. Guitar Ventures currently have 9,350 Facebook followers.

A great blog that has posts across all genres from acoustic to metal, as well as some really good tips for guitarists. Share My Guitar (blog.sharemyguitar.com) was voted one of the best social media network blogs for guitarists. Whether you want to set up a home studio or read up on guitar legends this is the guitar blog for you. Share My Guitar currently have just over 3,000 Facebook followers.

Our guitar student community recommended Guitar Habits (guitarhabits.com) as one of the best blogs to find songs/exercises to learn outside of lessons. This blog goes through many habits as a guitar player you might come across and how to fix them. This is alongside free guitar lessons, exercises and song recommendations to help guitarists develop. Guitar Habits currently have 6,800 Facebook followers and 3,500 Twitter followers.

Great articles, interesting topics and a guitar custom shop – what more could you want! My Rare Guitars (myrareguitars.com) was voted best blog for intermediate to advanced guitarists to read. Our guitar students loved the array of different topics written about. Posts are really detailed and ideal for geeky guitar students who want a good meaty read about vintage equipment or pick up some tips on improving soloing.

Our community of guitar students is really diverse, with students coming from all musical backgrounds. Tab & Chord (tabandchord.com) was voted the best platform for Hindi guitar-based music. It provides chords to all your favourite songs as well as a really comprehensive blog, focused both on acoustic guitar playing and Hindi music. Tab & Chord currently have over 10,800 Facebook followers.

We had some great feedback about Guitar Vibe (guitarvibe.com) as a fantastic blog for gig reviews of new bands. Voted the best blog for up and coming band reviews Guitar Vibe is well worth a read. The bands reviewed often tour in the UK and Europe, giving you the opportunity to go and check out some of the bands reviewed.

In addition, it also contains some great classical performance videos, perfect for inspiration and enjoyment. This Classical Guitar currently has just under 10,000 Facebook Followers.

They loved the quality of the content on the website, with high-quality guitar tuition videos as well as some great reviews of equipment. Voted the best blog for guitars who are “stuck in a rut” the Unlock the Guitar Blog (unlocktheguitar.net) is a fantastic resource for intermediate and advanced guitarists looking to reach that next level. Students really recommend this blog for any guitarist interested in improving their music theory, as well as learn how to write better solos or learn how to improvise at any level. The Unlock the Guitar Blog have just over 1,500 Facebook followers.

Electric Herald (www.electricherald.com) is a blog focused on the construction of guitars and was voted by our guitar students as the best resource for guitar maintenance & build. If you have ever felt interested in building your own guitar this website has a post on every aspect of the build process. Really positive reviews of this blog given by our students, both as a good read and practical advice.

Deadeye Guitars

Deadeye Guitars

Our guitar students loved the photos of guitars on the Deadeye Guitars (deadeyeguitars.blogspot.co.uk). It was recommended to us by some of our teenage guitar students who really liked the metal guitars featured in the blog & enjoyed logging on to see the new guitars photos included. As one student described it as the “Tinder of guitars”, as he scrolled down the page going “nah, nah, ah wait this one looks great”!

We asked our guitar student community from across the UK to suggest and vote on their favourite guitar blogs. The blogs could cover almost any aspect of playing the guitar, from buying equipment to reading interviews with professional guitarists. Each blog had to have exceptionally high-quality content, combined with interesting photos/videos/recordings, keeping our students return week after week to read more articles.

We presented each blog in the list with an award for the 2018 “Best Guitar Blog”.

Great list of guitar blogs. Its super exciting to see so much participation in the guitar world. The guitar has defined a large part of who I am. There is nothing cooler in my mind, than being a guitar player. The more information and resources that are out there, the easier it will be for that next generation of kids to pick up an axe and learn. Good work!
