I have been bringing my daughter age 10 to Matteo now for a number of months.
Matteo’s lessons are fun, informative, balanced between necessary theory and joyful playing to conquer each piece as he introduces them.
His teaching style is calm, warm, relaxed and above all else very clear and never rushed making no assumptions about the student’s playing or learning ability.
There is always time to listen to comments or concerns and even to listen to any piece of music the student may have picked up in between lessons which they may like to learn.
Theory is given a step by step approach with all the patience required to make sure there is an understanding of the lesson content.
Homework is also treated with the same balance of practicing the playing of a piece whilst backed up with the drills of scales or learning the music notation of the melody. Any improvement from a previous lesson, no matter how small, through homework is greeted with praise and further encouragement.
Matteo’s obvious wide knowledge of music and styles of playing keep younger students especially interested and engaged with contemporary examples but also cleverly introducing older popular music which open the way forward to experience progress quickly and want more!

He is a very good teacher able to teach at any level, and if you don’t know your theory like I didn’t he will surely get you up to speed in no time! Matteo is an amazing guitar tutor!
I started taking lessons with him since almost two months and my playing skills have increased so much as well as my musical knowledge.
I really like his lessons because he’s able to divide each lesson in various activities, like listening, theory and practice, making it fun and enjoyable.
His teaching method lays the foundations of theory necessary to build up guitar playing skills, so you’ll not only learn to play guitar but also have a deeper understanding of the theorical aspects.
Matteo is always happy to listen to comments about exercises and help revisit them if something is not clear. He won’t take anything for granted.
Also his being very calm and relaxed won’t put pressure on you.
