Hi, welcome to Cello Lessons Liverpool. My name is Kung Shing Kwan and I provide cello lessons to students of all ages and abilities in and around the Liverpool area. My lessons are built around your goals and are always both enjoyable and informative.
I have been teaching the Cello for more than 20 years and I take great pride in offering high quality lessons in a fun and relaxed environment. I think it is really important that as a student you feel comfortable in your learning environment to ensure you make the most progress possible. I have vast experience working with students from all walks of life so anyone is welcome to take lessons with me.
I understand that each student that takes lessons with me is unique as we all want and love different things about music. As such I will always make sure to adapt and tailor my teaching style to suit that individual person. Learning any new instrument or any new skill in general can sometimes be a little frustrating at times so I like to make sure the lessons are as engaging and fun as they can be.

I’ve been teaching music for over 20 years now and I absolutely love what I do! Music is my passion and I to love share this with my students. I take great pride in watching them grow and seeing their progress and development each week in between the lessons. My ultimate goal for these lessons is for my students to enjoy making and playing their favorite music while developing their skills as a musician.
I am a flexible teacher who feels comfortable and confident playing in a wide range of styles and genres. I am always open to teaching my students whatever music they are the most passionate about, particularly if there is a specific musical style/artist or genre that they would like to explore. Together we can work our way through your most loved and favorite songs. Not only is this rewarding in itself but we will be helping you improve on your playing techniques as we go.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
No matter whether you have never played a cello before, or if you have been playing for years already and just want to improve, all students are welcome to take lessons with me.
Introduction to Cello, Simple Melodies
I started with learning the violin and double bass at the age of 12 and achieved a high standard of level. Became more interested in cello at the age of 17 and continued the study of cello and double bass at the same time. Joined as the section principal with the Asian Youth Orchestra in 2000 and traveled throughout the Asia by giving concerts and recitals.
I taught cello/bass for more than 20 years privately and in different famous schools in Hong Kong like Diocesan Boys’ School, La Salle College, Belilios Public School, Wah Yan Primary School, Help Yunn Primary School and CCC Keiwan Primary School.
I worked with professional orchestras like HK Philharmonic, HK Sinfonietta, City Chamber of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Strings and HK Chinese Orchestra.
Advanced Playing Techniques, Complex Theory
I'm a qualified music instrument tutor with extensive background in performing with numerous famous professional orchestras as well as coaching in several famous reputation schools in Hong Kong. Traveled and performed in different parts of the world such Czech, Australia, Vietnam, Maylasia, Seoul, Japan and China, etc.
I'm experienced in teaching the cello and double bass for more than 20 years earning a good reputation.
I love to share my love of music with all of my students. I will always teach and work at a pace that makes you feel both welcomed and comfortable. I will always make a lesson plan that is built around you.

Dawsons Music, located 16-26 Williamson St, Liverpool L1 1EB is one of the best local music stores that we have here in Liverpool. Here they sell pretty much everything you could think of for any instrument all of which are available at prices to suit all budgets.

Lessons are £25 for 3/4 an hour or £30 for an hour.
I teach my lessons from a teaching space located in Liverpool L19 8AB, UK
I teach students of all ages 6+.
No you can attend lessons as and when you like. I would recommend one hour a week for the most consistent progress.
I am happy to reschedule lessons if I am given more than 24 hour notice from the arranged lesson time. Lessons cancelled within 24 hours will still be charged for.
