City of Plymouth Festival 2017
The City of Plymouth Festival of Music, Dance, Speech & Drama will be taking place later in the year, across a range of different locations and they are looking for applicants to take part in this fantastic event.
The music section of the festival will be split into two; firstly the instrumental section is being held on 17th to 18th November 2017, followed by the vocal section that will be held on the 24th to 25th November 2017. Both sections will be held at the at Sherwell Church, North Hill, PL4 8ER and overseen by two extremely experienced adjudicators – Helen Deakin (ABRSM Examiner) & Penelope Price Jones (Associate of the Royal Academy of Music). It is a fantastic opportunity for younger musicians to gain experience of performing to the public, in a friendly and receptive environment. The festival itself was founded in 1914 and is affiliated to the National Federation of Festivals. 2017 will mark 103rd Festival of its kind in Plymouth, a festival that is ran by enthusiastic volunteers through The City of Plymouth Festival Charity (Charity No. 1040360) with the aim of giving children from the city and neighbouring areas an opportunity to take part in a celebration of music, dance, speech and drama.
