Hello! My name is Kevin Zugschwert and I am a professional guitar tutor located in Denver. I offer exciting guitar lessons in a wide range of genres in the local area. I love to make sure my students learn in a direction that they can love and enjoy. I do this by making sure we learn the music that is familiar to you.
I will make sure that my lessons are always tailored to the individuals needs. By this I mean that I will build our guitar lessons around your skill level and music tastes. I think that this is the best way to learn to play the guitar. Generally its far more rewarding when we can imitate the songs and styles that we love to listen to in our spare time. I think that the guitar is a difficult instrument to learn so if we can make practice enjoyable for all then it's far easier to reach your playing goals.
I teach both acoustic and electric in a wide range of styles. Remember to let me know which you prefer. I recommend starting on acoustic before electric to build up finger strength and independence. However, this is not essential and If you only have an interest in electric then I'd be happy to help you on your journey as a player.

I teach all age groups and have experience in doing so. I would recommend starting no younger than 5 when learning the guitar. I find that students under the age of 5 tend to find the guitar very difficult to understand. I have plenty of experience teaching students of all ages & I love to welcome both children and adults to take my lessons. My lesson plan will always be built around your age and ability level so you'll always be learning at a comfortable pace.
I teach a wide variety of genres. I love to make sure we include the music that you love during our lessons. This is the main key to unlocking your playing. As well as learning the music you love I will amke sure your technique is spot on and you have a solid understanding of both the guitar and music. These are some of the most essential espects of becoming a good player.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
I welcome both beginner players and advanced players in a wide range of genres and styles. I will make a lesson plan that suits your needs as a player.
My lessons are always enjoyable
I am an experienced teacher who has over 25 years of experience including teaching, live performances, songwriting, and studio recordings. I will draw upon all of this experience collectively to make sure you have the best tuition possible.
During my time as a guitar player I have featured in the Country Showdown Nebraska State Title of 2015, Six String Theory Rock Guitar Competition top 5 of 2011, Guitar Player Guitar Superstar top ten of 2010, Guitar World magazine top ten shred the web of 2009. I have also released 4 studio albums.
I have a great range of live performing experience which I can use to help you gain confidence in both yourself and your playing so you can also perform in the future.

I like to make sure my lessons are as enjoyable as possible for all my students. I really feel that enjoying what you learn is the key to fast progress.

My lessons are charged at $35 per half hour and $65 per hour.
I take the majority of my lessons from my home teaching space.
I teach students of all ages & would recommend starting no younger than age 5.
Weekly lessons are a great way to improve your playing as long as you combine them with plenty of practice at home.
Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will be charged full price.
