    6.3.17

    Audition Warm Ups:
    – Slides and scales as normal (with the break)
    – Then na/yeahs & the arpeggio with repeating top notes “na na na”

    Little People:
    – Sing through normally to warm your voice up: use falsetto
    – Then start bringing in volume and character – repeat a few times
    – Don’t worry if it slips into falsetto – once your voice does this, just let it stay there rather than pushing – it sounds good!
    – Spend time on the ending – making sure “won’t give” and “pup grows up” don’t drop after the high notes (and don’t let them drop with tiredness after going back to the start)

Try these high versions to make the original seem less high!

    One semitone higher:

    Two semitones higher:

    Jealous:
    – Get yourself back into it and remember 6 beats in between each line 🙂

GOOD LUCK FOR THE AUDITION! XXX

    2.3.17

    Warm Ups:
    – Bella Señora – learn 4th pattern a little more
    – Try the Na/yeah scales for twang!

    Little People:
    – Well done with the version in A that we created above
    – Amazing work with the higher version in C! You can now sing in the original key 🙂 go for it!

    Here it is below:

    23.2.17

    Warm Ups:
    – Bella Senora: Learn the 4 new patterns

    Little People (Key of A):
    – Practise going down on “love”
    – Twang (more in the face/nose) yet in a relaxed way!

Here’s the version, but it’s obviously in the wrong key…

Use falsetto for high notes if you want to practice with this

Here’s your new backing track in the correct key for your voice! With and without melody. I hope it’s helpful.

I am working on swapping your lesson on Thu 9th to Mon 6th for extra practice 🙂 you’re gonna win that part!

    13.2.17

    Warm Ups:
    – Slides: Keep going with piano notes then test yourself and try without the notes!
    – Scales: Switch to “ma” if it helps the break
    – Great Bella Senoras
    – We’ll try separate octave notes (without the slide) later on

    Jealous:
    – You mostly have to count 6 beats between each line

Sing along with me as your guide (I enjoyed singing this one, got a bit carried away with it, thanks for introducing me to it!)

    30.1.17

    Warm Ups:
    – Slides on “e” – slowly through the break so you can smooth it over which will help the transition in songs
    – Scales: “ma” to help with transition
    – Bella Señora – very good, keep at it

    Riptide (Am):
    – Sounds good in this key – just learn the verses a little more by singing along with the original track, then when you know it, use this key:

Start singing 9 seconds in 🙂

    Jealous:
    – Youtube karaoke: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swPXtZypIAU
    – Good adjustments to the higher octave in the verses, just remember the jump on your own if you can
    – “It’s hard for me to say” high note on “hard” – big jump from the low notes of “misery” so be careful here
    – Middle 8: Sing higher, then go lower for the “oh, as I die here…”
    – “‘Cause all I do is cry behind this smile” this actually jumps down if you want to match his voice again

    First Lesson Notes – 16.1.17

    Body Conditioning:
    – Getting your body ready to sing with various stretches (see Welcome Pack on your profile page, with more notes on this on the last page)

    Warm Ups:
    – Scales & Arpeggios (Bella Senora, see warm ups on your profile)
    – Working on the transition between chest (speaking/calling out voice) to head voice (purer, softer tone, imagine yawning!) – really great start to this today!

    Hold Back The River:
    – Great work with this, working on the bottom of your range then jumping to the top of your range where it even starts switching to head voice!
    – Start practising with karaoke versions on Youtube so you can get used to hearing your voice without the artist

You can hopefully see that the Song Catalogue is available if you need inspiration for picking songs (underneath warm ups)
