    Hi all,

I’m currently attempting to set myself up as a full time guitar tutor. At the moment I’m only able to do lessons part time on account of the low uptake (most likely due in part to covid19).

If you could share any advice on good methods/ areas to locate students I would be very grateful.

I am local to the Leicestershire area I have around 1 year of teaching experience as a freelancer.

Word of mouth is really the best It takes time.Do not expect an influx all at once.Be able to tailor your cost to those who want to train but are not financially able to pay a silly amount. It pays off.Let your students do the talking.Hope this helps. Best Hopes for you.Keep calm and carry on. xx

Totally agree. Word of mouth is incredibly powerful.

I am also based in the Leicestershire area so am happy to meet up for SD.

When I was able to travel and see students 1-2-1 I would make sure my journey meant minimal travelling. For example, during a Wednesday evening I made sure all my students were in Oadby.

Now that 80% of my lessons are virtual, I have changed how I teach a lot so flexibility is also important!
