Book industry standard Drum Lessons with professional teacher Sam Barnes.
Hello! My name is Sam Barnes and I am a professional drum tutor located in Brighton.
I am known for providing students all over Brighton with exciting drum lessons.
Teaching is my passion and it is my highest priority to make sure that every lesson you take is of the highest quality.
I offer lessons to a wide range of different ages, however, I would recommend starting from ages 6 and above.
I am a music lover and I am always happy to teach you the music that inspires you.
I take most of my lessons from a teaching space in the centre of Brighton that is well connected via transport links across the city.
Personalised drum lessons available in 30 minute or half-hour slots.
My half-hour lessons are best suited to those who want to have a taster of what it's like to learn or for young learners who are still yet to build their attention span.
My one-hour lessons are by far my most popular option. I would recommend a one hour slot once per week to see the best results.
'Sam has been a great drum teacher! He is very encouraging, positive and his sessions are extremely informative as he does not teach only technique but also how to read music. I really enjoyed learning how to play the drums with Sam and I would definitely recommend!!'
'Sam is a really good teacher, he’s very patient and helpful with my young son.'
'My son has made outstanding progress since beginning to have lessons with Sam. He has an excellent relationship with Sam and now never needs to be asked to practise, as he is so keen to master the different things they have covered in his lessons.'
Since discovering the drums at the age of 10 I quickly became obsessed with music. I began my musical journey taking drum lessons at school & forming bands with friends, before eventually studying for my degree in Professional Musicianship.
I can teach all styles but specialise in teaching Rock / Pop / Punk & Metal so if you like things fast & loud then you've come to the right place to learn.
I now have over 15 years of studio recording & international touring experience, as well as a radio play on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6Music, Kerrang!, Planet Rock & more.
Before we start lessons we will always discuss the music that inspires you and the music that you enjoy to make sure we will aim towards achieving the direction that you want.
I currently take the majority of my lessons from my home teaching space based on Manor Hall Rd, Southwick, Brighton, BN42 4NH.
I think this is a great place to learn because I provide all the equipment and have created a comfortable learning environment. In addition to this space, I also teach from two other locations within the city.
