Welcome to
HI everyone, My name is Ed Cuss & I am a professional drum teacher based in Liverpool offering high quality lessons to all.
I am a 25-year-old UoL music graduate, who has been playing the drums for the last 17 years and teaching for the last 4. I have played countless gigs including national festivals with many different artists across a multitude of styles.
I currently teach a diverse mix of students of varying abilities and ages, ranging from 6 to 67. I have a 100% pass rate for Rockschool & Trinity examinations, with all students achieving merit and above.

I have taught GCSE and A-Level students, focusing on their performance pieces with students achieving Level 9. I have led band sessions for students age 7-17 and prepared them for live performances, specialising in compositional skills.
I have also worked in both primary and secondary schools across Liverpool and the Wirral, teaching one to one, small groups and leading Samba drum sessions for classes of up to 30 students.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
As part of the mgrmusic.com network we work with:I welcome students of all ages and players of all abilities. I will build my lessons around what you want to learn & the we will learn at a level you are comfortable with.
I have worked with students who are looking to learn for pleasure, prepping for performances or wanting to brush up on their existing skillset. I have also worked with students who are preparing for auditions, including University.
I believe in teaching my students the ability to express and convey themselves behind the drums, whether that means expanding their vocabulary to freely improvise with other musicians or helping them have fun playing along to their favourite songs.
Together we will create a lesson plan that best suits your needs as a drummer & I will help you achieve all of your drumming goals.
I like to make sure to build on my experience as a teacher and a player to make sure you really get the most out of your lessons. They will always be built to your specifications and enjoyable.
My students in the past have learned all sorts of genres & many different styles. I can guarantee that whatever direction you want to learn in, I have already taught someone else in a similar direction.
I believe that to truly learn properly you have to enjoy what you learn. I can't stress enough that my main goal for all of my students is that we enjoy learning together & because of this I find that everyone will learn both faster and more efficiently.

Lessons currently taking place online over Zoom under government guidelines - this is a great way to carry on with your current lessons or take up a new hobby during these times.
I strongly believe that music shouldn't have an age limit and should be open to everyone & because of this, I offer my tuition to student as young as 6 years of age and upward.
You don't have to, however, I would recommend that you take at least a lesson once per week for the best results. This should be combined with plenty of practice at home in your free time.
If you cancel with more than 24 hours notice then I would be happy to re-organise your lesson but if you give lesson than 24 hours notice then I will have to charge for the lesson.
