Hello! My name is Karl Morgan and I provide professional drum lessons to students of all ages and abilities in the London. My lessons are based around your goals and the genres of music that you love. Whatever you have in mind in terms of learning direction, I will be happy to make a lesson plan around it.
I teach a wide range of genres anywhere from funk to rock music and everything else in-between. I have an all around strong passion for all things music and I believe this is reflected in my teaching. No matter what playing level you are currently at, and no matter what music you enjoy, together we will study and work through the songs you love to not only help you improve technique but to allow you to play songs you've always dreamed of.
I take pride in always taking the time to get to know you as an individual, to learn what your musical goals are and what styles or artists you enjoy the most. From there I will also tailor my lesson plans to suit you. I understand we all want and enjoy different things about music so I will always make sure we are working towards your specific musical goals at all times.

I teach all students no matter what age starting from ages 6+. I find it's never really too early or too late to start learning an instrument and I enjoy working with students from all walks of life. For my younger students I tend to recommend shorter sessions to help maintain their attention span and keep them focused.
My lessons also cater for students of any skill set or ability level. So even if you have never played a drum kit before, or if you have been playing for years and you are just looking to take things to the next level, my lessons are suited to all students. Both Beginners and Advanced students are welcome!
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
My teaching experience allows me to offer varied lessons that are suited to any player. No matter what your skill set is, or what style of music you enjoy to listen to, together we can get you to that next level.
Introduction to Drums, Basic Rhythms
I’ve been hitting things with sticks for about twenty years. Hearing the classic drum intro to ‘Song 2’ by Blur was the turning point – I remember hearing that and thinking: “This is SO COOL – what is that guy doing?”
I soon started playing in bands, and have been gigging regularly ever since then. I’ve played in pop, indie, punk, metal, hardcore, and grunge bands. I have toured around the UK, France, Spain, Poland and the Netherlands, and I have recorded many times at studios around London.
I have studied music extensively, achieving Grade 8 with Merit at the Trinity Guildhall School of Music, and this has provided a solid foundation for my teaching.
More Complex Rhythms, Rudiments, Harder Songs
Together we will always take every lesson as it comes to ensure that you are learning at a comfortable pace. Applying too much pressure to students can be counter productive so we will always be moving at a speed your happy with and I am here to give you all the support you will need to overcome the challenges of playing drums.
The most important thing in order to see progress is for me to ensure that you enjoy your lessons. I will always make sure that the sessions are as relaxed and enjoyable as possible all the while still being highly informative. I tend to find students learn and retain information best being in a familiar and comfortable environment.
I started teaching drums about ten years ago. If you’re passionate about something, and you know a bit about it – why not pass that enthusiasm on to someone else? Helping my students to find their voice and express themselves is something that gives me great joy. Playing the drums is something that has proven benefits for both mental and physical health, and best of all: it’s FUN!

London has a wide range of music shops on offer. It is probably one of the best locations in the UK to buy instruments. You will find everything you need of the highest quality all over the city.
Footes Music, One of the best independent drum based shops would be Footes Drums & Percussion which has a wide range of drum equipment as well as sheet music and everything else you can think of. They are currently located on 41 Store St, Fitzrovia, London WC1E 7DB. They also have a rental service if this is something you are interested in.
Drum Shack, is located on 58 Lavender Hill, London SW11 5RQ. This is also a great shop that will cater to all of your drumming needs. They also specialise on vintage and second-hand drum kits.

Each hour lesson is £40. £30 for online lessons.
Lessons can take place at my home address in London, E3 2BH, UK if necessary (full address would be provided upon booking your first lesson).
I teach students of all ages 6+.
No you can attend lessons as and when you like. I would recommend one hour a week for the most consistent progress.
Any lessons cancelled within 48 hours can still be charged for. I am happy to reschedule cancelled lessons where possible.
