Lessons & Costs

Here at Drum Lessons Sheffield, I believe that rhythm isn’t just something that you are born with. Instead, everyone has the potential to learn and develop it. All it takes is a little dedication and hard work. My experience in teaching music and performing music allows me to provide lessons that are tailored to each student. No matter what genres or style of music you enjoy, I can provide the lessons suited to help you drum like your heroes.

Once the first introductory lesson is complete I will help develop a structured plan for you to practice. This will include both personal and tutor targets. Some students prefer to go through a graded syllabus such as Rockschool or Guildhall. I can support and guide you through both. Others simply just want to learn some of their favourite songs from their favourite bands and rock out for their family and friends.

I’ll always leave the student with some exercises and practice routines to keep them busy throughout the week. I tend to find that most of the progress is done in between the lessons when students are practising.

Alongside my drum teaching, I am an active performer with a vast range of experience in both an academic and live setting. Some of my performances include working with the BBC, others include performing on P&O Ferries ships, at the Birmingham Symphony Hall and as part of the BOADS Theatre Company. This varied background allows me to provide lessons suited to people from all different backgrounds and walks of life.

The prices of my drum lessons are £25 for an hour, £20 for 3/4 of an hour, £15 for half an hour. If you would like more information on my drum lessons please feel free to drop me an email to [email protected]

I am very fortunate to have received some lovely comments and feedback over my time as a drum teacher. I have always wanted to provide drum lessons that are relaxed and entertaining for the students. One of my previous students Rupert Stone had said that I was a “fantastic drummer and a pleasure to be around”. Adding that he felt like he was ‘Learning from a true pro!‘. It’s really important to me that the lessons are entertaining and suited to students of all ages. I like to ensure for younger students that the lessons are really fun to help spark their interest and passion for music. ‘My 7-year-old daughter is picking it up so well and it’s all credit to Lawrence‘ was some humbling feedback received from mother Shelly Kelly.

Whether you’re looking for a theoretical or practical approach to learning the drums I can provide the lessons you’ll need. One of my students Benjaimin Nelmes was kind enough to review Drum Lessons Sheffield saying “Best drummer I know and his teachings are second to none”.
