My name is Merlin & I'm a professional flute teacher based in Witney offering high quality flute lessons.
My aim is that all of my students enjoy learning to play the flute. I will make a lesson plan that best suits your needs as a player & we will improve your playing together.
My lessons will be built around your needs as a player & together we will learn to play the music that you love and are familiar with. I'm an experienced performer & this is something that allows me to help my students gain more confidence in their own ability.

Most of my students take lessons once a week but I also offer fortnightly lessons & I'm happy for my student to learn as and when it's convenient for you.
I have years of playing and performing experience to make sure we can tailor each lesson to help you improve your playing and build confidence in your self and your playing.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
I have experience in both teaching beginners and advanced students & welcome everyone to come and learn the Flute with me regardless of playing level.

I am a qualified and experienced flute teacher based in Oxfordshire. I have been teaching for a number of years, people of all ages and abilities. My approach to lessons is to make them enjoyable and fun with a relaxed manner whilst at the same time pushing the students to reach their full potential.
All lessons are tailored to the needs of the individual, ranging from total beginners to graded examinations with all the leading examination boards such as ABRSM & Trinity. Although exams are not essential I am happy to teach popular pieces and arrangements for flute just for fun and enjoyment.
I am a recent graduate of the Tirana University of Arts where I completed her Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance. In 2018, I was invited to join the National Radio-Television Orchestra of Albania where I performed around the country as a principal flutist and collaborated with highly regarded conductors such as Anna Volchenko, Uwe Theimer, Mateusz Moleda and Noorman Widjaja.

Alongside completing my studies, I have participated in many Festivals and summer music academies around Europe and have had masterclasses with distinguished soloists such as Philippe Racine, Ljubisa Jovanovic and Erwin Klambauer.
Learning from the best in the field is my passion and I want to transfer my knowledge and skills to the young generation of flutists here in Oxfordshire. Witney is a small place but has a few great music stores and record shops in the area. Here are a couple I would recommend in the area.
Peter Crowther Cellos, Is the best place in the area to go for both stringed instruments & sheet music. You can find the store on 11 Bridge St, Witney OX28 1BY.
Rapture, is an extensive record shop where you can pick up a wide range of records from classical to rock & pop. There's plenty to give you some much needed inspiration. They can be found at 12, Market Square, Witney OX28 6AP.
Witney Music Rooms, Located at Unit 6, Eagle Industrial Estate, Church Green, Witney OX28 4YR, is the best place to go if you want to rehearse as part of your band/act or just have a large space for practice. They offer large soundproofed rooms for great prices.

My lessons are charged at £25 per half hour and £40 per hour for all students.
My lessons take place at my home teaching space in Witney. This is a great place to learn where you can really feel comfortable whilst learning.
I have experience in teaching all ages & offer my lessons for students ages 6 and above.
I would recommend weekly lessons for the best results. This however is not mandatory & you can learn as and when you like.
If you cancel a lesson with less than 48 hours notice you will still be charged for the lesson. If you give enough notice, I'm happy to reschedule your lesson for you.
