Hello, my name is Raime Newman and I am a professional guitar teacher based in Dudley. I regularly provide students with enjoyable and focussed lessons covering a range of styles such as rock, pop, indie and blues.
As well as experience in playing many types of music through higher education and beyond, I have gained proficiency in several instruments. During my 8 years of teaching, I have taken students through to progress on acoustic, electric and bass guitars.
Within recent years, I have achieved several noteworthy musical accomplishments. I am proud to list my performance at Tribfest, Europe's largest tribute festival, several qualifications from Walsall College and the University of Lincoln, as well as having released several EPs of my own compositions. Through attaining these milestones among others, I have greatly improved my musical understanding and abilities, which I now enjoy teaching back to my current students.

Throughout my time in education I highly enjoyed picking up stylistic elements of numerous guitar led genres. By studying the techniques and musical concepts behind traditional approaches, one can diversify and adapt to many musical situations.
One of the most delightful aspects of playing guitar professionally is nurturing the steady progress of my students. Guitar has led me to experience life through music and achieve great things. Consequently, it is now my aim to inspire individuals to challenge themselves as I did by helping them push forward and become the players that they want to be.

I teach guitar to all students aged 8 upwards. No matter where you may be currently in your musical journey or stage of life, I will provide lessons that keep you challenged, focussed and excited.

Teaching guitar has led me to instruct students of all descriptions; from youngsters to seniors, beginners to advanced players. It should certainly be noted that age is not a factor when it comes to the benefits of learning an instrument.
Initially I began by giving lessons exclusively to friends and family, however through word of mouth, my student numbers quickly began to rise. I am now a seasoned teacher of 8 years, having taught in a wide variety of environments to a diverse range of learners.
As well as having taught guitar, I have also guided budding bassists and music theory enthusiasts. By learning more about the world of guitar, students quickly tend to develop a deeper interest and heightened appreciation for music in general.

Coupled with my informed and methodical approach to teaching, I always ensure positivity and encouragement are present during lessons. Learning an instrument first and foremost, should be a highly fulfilling and enjoyable process. Otherwise, what's the point?!
Every student is different, therefore every lesson should be too. My learners benefit from personalised 1-2-1 guidance where ability level, age and musical interests are all accounted for.

My lessons cost £12.50 for 30 minutes and £25.00 for a full hour.
I invite all students of mine to take lessons at my home teaching space in Dudley. It has proven to be a relaxed and convenient setting for many over the years to progress and focus. For those who may have difficulty travelling, I also offer mobile and online classes.
I teach all ages from 8 and upwards. I often provide lessons to many adult beginners, including more senior members of the community. The benefits of picking up an instrument at any age are certainly worth exploring.
No, you do not need to attend weekly sessions. However, I do recommend leaving lessons no more than two weeks apart. This is because by keeping your fingers and mind challenged, you will progress much quicker and have a more enjoyable time doing so!
If you need to cancel a lesson, that is no problem whatsoever. Life is unpredictable and it's surprises can leave us with many challenges along the way. However, I do ask that students abide by a 48 hour cancellation policy. This simply means that you must inform me of a cancellation 48 hours or more prior to the agreed time slot so that your money and my time remain well spent.
