Book professional guitar lessons with teacher Simon Perry.
Hello! My name is Simon Perry and I am a professional guitar tutor located in Exeter.
I provide high quality guitar tuition to all ages of learner.
I like to make sure my lessons are always of the highest quality and I will always make sure you enjoy learning.
I have a vast amount of experience in teaching students of all ages and all levels. Because of this I would recommend starting to learn no younger than age 6.
I am always happy to teach you the music that you love. I personally love a wide range of genres so I am always happy to jump into any ideas you may have.
I teach both acoustic guitar and electric guitar in a wide range of genres.
High-quality guitar lessons available as half-hour or hour-long sessions.
Half hour lessons are always well suited to younger learners. I feel that younger learners really benefit from learning in small doses. Half an hour lessons are also well suited to those who have a very busy lifestyle and perhaps don't have the time they would like to commit to lessons.
My Hour-long lessons are suited to students of all ages who have a real drive to learn to play and practice in their own time. One lesson per week is usually enough to see some real improvement in a short space of time.
'My son has had lessons with Simon for over a year and really looks forward to them each week. Simon is always friendly and welcoming and he is a fantastic teacher. He uses his excellent knowledge of music and technique, along with a clear understanding of my son’s preferences, strengths and challenges, to teach the many skills required to play the guitar. He is unfailingly patient and positive and is always encouraging. I am delighted with my son’s progress and would not hesitate to recommend Simon to anyone wishing to learn how to play the guitar.'
I am an experienced teacher who has been playing and performing for as long as I can remember. I also have achieved a BA in Popular Music Performance (2:1 Hons).
I really enjoy helping people develop into better guitarists. My aim is to give each of my students the tuition that best suits them. Whether you wish to play your favourite songs, study towards exam grades or learn everything there is to know
I believe that incorporating the music that you want to learn will make playing and lessons far more enjoyable for you. I will make sure to incorporate song work, as well as a strong understanding of basic theory.
Beginner students are more than welcome to come for lessons, as are more experienced students. No matter what situation you find yourself in, I will do my best to create a lesson plan that best suits your needs.
I currently teach from my home teaching space located Greyfriars Rd (EX4 7BS). It is a relaxing and homely place to learn to play that is easy to access from all ends of the city. Being relaxed and comfortable is one of the key aspects of seeing quick progress when learning guitar. My full address will be provided upon booking your first lesson.
