I have experience in teaching a wide range of ages & because of this I would recommend starting from ages 10 and above.
I can teach you a wide range of genres including Jazz, Latin or Bossa Nova, Blues, Classic Rock, Folk & Country.
I can teach both acoustic & electric guitar & techniques specific to both guitars.
Professional guitar tuition available in hour-long slots. Lessons are personalised to your own individual tastes.
I recommend hour-long lessons for all of my students as I feel this allows us to cover enough material for you to practice at home.
'Pavel is a natural tutor with extensive skills in both music and communication. Thought our lessons I felt very comfortable, meanwhile, my progress skyrocketed. I really like Pavel’s approach to these lessons, because instead of just gaining skills, you also gain an understanding of what you are doing. Pavel never pressured me and made me believe in my success, so it’s one of those cases when you are eager to go to lessons'
'Pavel is a very talented guitarist, I had the opportunity to work with him on various different projects where he has played amazing jazz guitar parts for the productions. Besides the guitar, Pavel is very good at composition and production. He listens to the client and offers a customized program that will help the client. He is very friendly and easy to work with but at the same time very professional when it comes to his work. I really recommend anyone who wants to learn guitar and or anything with music composition or production.'
I am a fully self – taught guitar player, having picked up the instrument at the age of 11. It has been a passionate journey from the start, and during the last 14 years, I have been heavily involved in performing, composing and recording as a part of various bands and ensembles, as well as a guitar session player.
Throughout the last 14 years I have been a member of classic rock, blues and jazz bands, as well as recording and writing guitar parts for other artists, producers, advertisements and film in London and around the world. Up to date, I have had a chance to work on a project for the BBC, as well as being a part of a Spotify Lo-Fi Jazz Hi Hop project with 100k+ streams..
Approximately four years ago I have also started tutoring guitar, focusing on my personally developed methodology which ignores traditional music theory knowledge and conventional techniques, but is all about playing together, vibing, bonding and having fun.
I view the lessons as an opportunity for my students to explore the guitar, play and experiment with it, and getting them into both creative and technical mindset where you are ready to continue this journey by themselves.
I take the majority of my lessons from my home teaching space in the W14 9QJ area of Hammersmith.
I think this is a great place to learn where you can really feel comfortable whilst learning & make the progress that you have always dreamed of.
Music Shops in Hammersmith:
Londons music-rich history leaves it with plenty of music shops. Sadly, Hammersmith isn't one of the best areas when it comes to music stores so I would recommend travelling further into London. Here's a couple of options where you might be able to pick up a guitar in hammersmith.
X Electrical is an exchange shop & every now and again they have some great deals on used guitars. Sometimes you can pick up a great guitar for a very affordable price. The shop is located at 125 King St, Hammersmith, London W6 9JG .
The only other option would be West 12 music shop which is located on 414 Uxbridge Rd, White City, London W12 0NR. This shop is small but has a great range of guitars and accessories for all kinds of player. This would be my suggestion if you are looking for a beginner guitar.
Music Venues in Hammersmith:
There are thankfully still some great options in the area when it comes to live music including one of Londons most famous venues.
The Hammersmith Apollo located at 45 Queen Caroline St, Hammersmith, London W6 9QH is a great venue that is known all over the UK. It was originally opened in 1932 as the Gaumont Palace & was renamed the Pollo in the '60s. I believe it now goes under the name the Eventim Apollo. With a capacity of 3500, it attracts some of the worlds biggest and best acts. Check out their website for full listings.
If you are looking for something considerably smaller then Nells is a great option. The venue is a small 300 capacity venue but it hosts regular band nights & cover bands. I'd recommend checking this place out on the weekend for the best crowds & bands. The venue is located at 3 North End Crescent, Hammersmith, London W14 8TG.
