I have received some very humbling testimonials from my guitar students. You can have a read of below! And I would be more than happy to help you to learn to play the guitar too. I cater for students of all abilities, so whether this is your first time picking up a guitar or your 100th time, I will tailor the lessons to suit your needs and help you progress to that next level of playing.
The lessons I provide can be held either at the home of the student or at my own home where I have a space to host the sessions. My main area covers Hull city centre and the surrounding areas within a reasonable distance. Whichever location suits the student is fine by me. I’m happy to work flexibly with students who maybe have busy working schedules etc and will do my best to cater to this.
As well as teaching privately I do also teach classes in schools across the city. The ages I teach in schools go as low as 6/7 years old whereas privately I teach people who have recently retired. No matter what age, it’s never too late to get started or to brush off the cobwebs! I play in a signed/touring band called Years Young and enjoy gigging and performing all over the country. I’ll always keep my lessons fun, engaging and relaxed to make learning the guitar a smooth and fun experience! Lessons & Costs
As a professional guitar teacher, I’m here to help you either get started from the ground up or help identify your weaknesses to build on them and get you to that next level. My main method of teaching is just through teaching songs. Learning songs will demonstrate ranges of techniques from song to song that you can learn, which not only helps you learn the techniques needed but also get to rock out a full song at the end of it. I can provide all theory knowledge to whichever level that student desires.
All my lessons are tailored to suit each individual student that I teach. To the point where you can pick any song you want to learn. You’ll be playing songs you’ve dreamt of playing in no time. I’ll always consider the age of my students and their personalities, all suggestions I’ll make will be tailored to that person and their interests. I find this way it helps keep the student-driven in learning the track as it something they’ve selected to learn!
My lessons are charged at £15 per half hour / £25 per hour. I’m happy to provide the lessons at the home of the student or my own home, whichever suits best. I do cover the surrounding areas of Hull also within a reasonable distance. I tend to find most people learn best in their own home, being in that familiar and comfortable environment. For more information about my lessons, feel free to drop me an email at [email protected].
To me, teaching is all about my own passion for music and my desire to share this with others and to help you experience it too. I’m very grateful for some of the genuine feedback I have had from my students. You can read some of these below!
“After many years of wishing I could play a guitar, I finally took the plunge at 55 years of age and thankfully found you to teach me. From the very first lesson, your professionalism and enthusiasm for all things guitar has been apparent and fuelled my desire to learn and progress. Danny, the person, is kind, polite, courteous and has a – nothing is too much trouble attitude toward his work. Lessons are always relaxed, informal and great fun.
You allow your students to learn at their own pace and encourage complete freedom in selecting the types of music they would like to learn, whilst ensuring important techniques and theory are being incorporated into the lesson. Support for your students is second to none. I have always been provided with easy to follow hand-outs, advice and guidance in the form of follow up text messages and demonstration videos when I need them.
With your help and encouragement, I am living my dream of being able to play the guitar and enjoying every minute. I can’t thank you enough and are looking forward to many more informative and fun lessons.” – John Bateman
“I didn’t think I would be able to make the progress that I have but the lessons are going great and I’m learning a lot and being able to jam a few tunes after this short time is awesome!” – Danny French
“Dan is an impressive young man, thoroughly professional and talented in what he does. He is down to earth and well organised, but in a way that allows for flexibility. He demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of teaching and playing the guitar. He teaches in a fun, relaexed and informative way. My son looks forward to each and every lesson with him.” – Mark Blanchard
