'Sophie loves music and she loves to teach others what she knows. I have loved being taught by Sophie. She’s inspired me to not only play the guitar but to sing and to perform live. Her energy rubs off on you, so expect to end up adoring music as much as she does.'
'I didn’t really know anything about music before I started having lessons with Sophie, but now I understand how to play the guitar.'
'I’m studying music at GCSE and I was struggling with music theory. Sophie explained so many of the different music theory elements to me (some more times than I’d like to admit) and she helped me to get my grade five theory in the bag!
I am a qualified music teacher, having achieved A Level Music and GCSE Music. Growing up I was constantly performing, whether that be in bands singing and playing the guitar at local venues (pubs, churches, schools, parks and public events) or solo singing, playing violin and piano or in other groups such as samba band, jazz band, choirs and string ensembles. I also write and compose my own songs.
I believe all people should benefit from the therapeutic effects of playing an instrument, this is why I offer my guitar lessons to students of all ages and abilities starting from 6+.
I offer a student-focused approach. This means I will create a tailored lesson plan with you based around your interests and musical goals, to make learning the guitar a relaxing and truly enjoyable experience.
If you want to learn to play the guitar in rapid time by playing the music you love in a comfortable setting, don't hesitate to get in touch with me to book your first lesson now!
I am actually a mobile teacher. This means I offer the unique service of driving to the homes of my students and taking guitar lessons there.
This can be fantastic for students as they do not need to worry about travelling or traffic, they can relax in the comfort of their own home and have tailored one-to-one guitar lessons. Taking the stress out of learning the guitar.
