I have taught music for over 20 years, lecturing music in colleges and schools, as well as offering professional private guitar lessons from my home teaching studio. I am based in Edmonton, Enfield. With Edmonton Green Overground being conveniently located close to my teaching studio, served by the Liverpool Street to Cheshunt Overground.
I teach students of all abilities, welcoming beginner, intermediate and advanced guitarist to 1-2-1 private guitar lessons. Young children to adult learners are welcome. I focus my lessons on helping my students rapidly improve their guitar playing ability. I do this by drawing on years of teaching experience to create individually tailored courses of lessons, ideally suited to each students learning needs.
As a professional musician, I have worked with the likes of James & Paul McCartney, Mel B and The Specials to name a few. Performing many times both here in London, including shows at the The Royal Festival Hall in London, as well as internationally at The Late Late Show (Ireland) and The Late Show With David Letterman (USA). Lessons & Costs
My lessons are charged at £25 per half hour lesson and £35 per hour lesson. With most of my students taking an hours lesson each week to ensure that they progress at the pace that they are comfortable with.
For younger learners, I recommend taking a half hour lesson each week during term time. This gives young guitarists the opportunity to take really well-structured courses of lessons.
Consequently, parents will really see the progress of their child during the term. Parents are welcome to attend children’s lessons.
I welcome beginners, with no prior guitar playing experience to attend lessons with me. I have a lot of experience helping beginner students develop their guitar playing ability rapidly to a good standard. Indeed, my foundation course of guitar lessons seeks to achieve that very aim.
For intermediate and more advanced guitarists, my lessons focus on both the weaknesses of your guitar playing, as well as reinvigorating your enthusiasm for practising the guitar. This is often the cause of competent guitarists plateauing in their playing ability. Put simply they practice and play the same songs and exercises over and over, without pushing their playing forward. If this you then I can certainly help you get out of the guitar playing “rut”. For more information about my guitar classes simply get in touch by emailing me on [email protected].
I have been very fortunate over the years to receive fantastic testimonials about my guitar tuition. Indeed, this is something that I really pride myself upon, ensuring that my students receive the highest quality guitar lessons at any guitar school in London. As I professional music teacher I focus on helping my students rapidly progress through learning the music that they are passionate about. This is something that Sarah Howe, one of my guitar students, reflected upon “I started out as a complete beginner. The lessons are great fun and I’m learning music I love. I’ve even performed in public now!”.
This individually tailored approach, combined with many years experience ensures that my lessons are taught at just the right level for each learner. I draw on technical exercises, core genre songs and blend them with the styles of music that my student wants to learn. This produces fantastic results, especially when it is combined with good levels of practice from the student. This is an aspect of my guitar tuition that a student, Stephen Moore, picked up on “Oli is a very patient and knowledgeable tutor and pitches the lessons just right.”
I would be delighted for you to join my growing list of guitar students who are benefiting from quality, well-structured guitar tuition. To find out more about my guitar lessons don’t hesitate to get in touch by emailing me on [email protected].
