Hello! I'm Karlo Hirzin and I'm a professional guitar teacher offering guitar lessons to all students based in and around Stockport. I offer high-quality guitar tuition to students of all learning abilities, including those who are complete beginners on the guitar.
I have studied and played classical guitar since I was 6 years old and after finishing at my secondary school in Croatia I decided to continue my musical education at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester where I completed my bachelors degree. Playing guitar is something that I am still just as passionate about to this day and I love what I do. Over the years I have gained and developed such a wide range of skills and knowledge which I am now very happy to be able to share with you. I offer friendly and relaxed lessons suitable to any student.
I take pride in offering relaxed and informative lessons. In my experience people tend to learn best and retain more information when in a comfortable and relaxed learning environment. I will always take the time to get to know you on a personal level, so I can adapt and tailor the lesson material to suit you and your individual goals and aims. My main teaching method is to teach you your favorite songs by the artists you love the most. This not only helps you improve as a technical guitar player but you also get to play some of your all time favorite songs in the process.

I teacher both electric and acoustic guitar to students of all learning abilities, including complete beginners. I also welcome young learners, from the ages of 6 years old and upwards to take lessons. I have developed a great course of foundation guitar lessons ideally suited for young learners to quickly progress on the guitar. No matter what you're currently ability level is, all students are welcome to take lessons with me and together we will get you to that next level!
For adult learners my lessons give them the technical skill sets to master playing the music that they enjoy listening to. Core aspects of playing, whether rhythm, chord patters or picking, will be taught to ensure a student has a well rounded approach to playing the guitar. I understand that younger learners will learn differently to adult so I will always adapt my teaching style accordingly. I would recommend taking a one hour lesson per week to ensure the most consistent progress and development in between our sessions.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
I welcome both beginners and advanced students. I will always make a lesson plan that fits your playing level.
My lessons are both fun and informative
Having graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester I then went on to do a teacher training course at Manchester Metropolitan University which has provided me with all the necessary tools to provide top quality and professional guitar lessons.
As a performer, I have attended and won prizes at many international classical guitar competitions and would not have a problem with teaching students of any skill level or ability. I have many years real world playing and performing experience which I call upon to ensure I'm always providing the best lessons I can.
I currently hold a Bachelors of Music degree and a PGCE with specialist instrumental teaching. I am confident and fluent on my instrument and provide lessons that are catered and suitable for any student no matter what style or genre you are most passionate about.

I feel it's very important to tailor my teaching to each student, dependent on their ultimate goals and desired outcomes for learning an instrument. I appreciate we all want and love different things about music so I will always do my best to make sure you are only studying and learning material that you enjoy.
I strongly believe that it's important for my students to enjoy their lessons so teaching you your favorite songs helps keep the lessons fun and relaxed. I teach with a student-focused approach, meaning I will create a tailored lesson plan based around your interests and goals. I want you to leave every lesson feeling keen and excited to go and practise the things you have just learnt.
I take pride in providing a comfortable learning environment for my students so they can have a place to discover and develop their skills on the guitar at a pace that suits them. I understand starting lessons can be daunting, but I assure you will be put at ease during our lessons and build a course of lessons aimed to help you get to where you want to be.

Sounds Great Music, Located on 180-182 Wilmslow Rd, Heald Green, Cheadle, SK8 3BG. Sounds Great have a huge stock of guitars, effects pedals, amplifiers and recording equipment to suit beginners all the way to professional musicians.
Gibson Music, Is another fantastic and local guitar store, selling a variety of new and used guitars at all price points. The owner has over 35 years experience and the store even has a professional in house technician to fix any guitar-related problems.
I'm an experienced musician and guitarist who can help you improve your playing or understanding of music in general. I will make lessons that are built around your strengths/weaknesses as well as the music you love. I cover a wide range of different musical genres, on both the electric and acoustic guitar, enabling me to build courses of lessons that help my students to rapidly develop their guitar playing ability.

My lessons are charged at £15 per half hour and £25 per hour for all students.
I am a mobile guitar teacher, so am able to travel to you to teach you to play the guitar (subject to my teaching schedule and your location. I also teach some guitar lessons from a dedicated teaching space located Yew Tree Road, Manchester, M14 7PP (full address provided at the time of booking a lesson).
I have experience teaching both adults and young learners from 6+.
The frequency of lessons is entirely up to you. From experience I would recommend that weekly lessons are the best way to improve over a short time. This has to be combined with plenty of practice at home as well.
Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will still be charged full price. I am happy to reschedule cancelled lessons where possible.
