Hello! My name is Karen and I am a professional guitar tutor located in warwick.
I offer enjoyable and informatve guitar lessons in the local area.
I always maintain a high quality of tuition for all of my students.
I have a wide amount of experience in teaching all ages & because of this, I recommend starting to learn from ages 6 and up.
I teach a wide range of genres including Classical and Spanish Guitar, Pop and Folk.
I am located in an easy to find area that has good transport links from the city centre.
Personalised guitar lessons are ages 6+. Available in half-hour sessions.
I recommend half-hour lessons for all of my students because I feel it is best to learn often and in small doses. Half-hour lessons are also suitable for all ages.
'Mrs Knott has been teaching our son guitar for a little over two years. During that time, not only has Mrs Knott helped him achieve fantastic grade results, but she has nurtured a love of the instrument in our ‘not especially musical’ son and more importantly helped him to gain oodles of confidence and self esteem. Mrs Knott has taken great care in getting to know and understanding how our son learns and has adapted both her style and teaching techniques to support him in reaching his potential. Her approach is a fantastic mix of striving to be the best you can be, patience, kindness, belief in her students and fun, we could not recommend her more highly!'
'Karen is an amazing teacher. Lessons are well paced and challenging. Having had lessons previously I didn’t realise that there was so much technique involved which is enhancing my progress. Lessons and practicing at home are a pleasure.'
'The last time I had classical guitar lessons was over 30 years ago and I have been having lessons lessons now for over 3 months. On comparison with my last guitar teacher I didn’t realise that there was so much technique involved in terms of positioning and movement which has improved my guitar playing. We have gone back to basics in terms of rhythm which I had previously skipped over and I particularly enjoy dynamics which enhances pieces. The lessons are well paced, challenging and fun. Practising at home is a pleasure. I plan to take grade 3 in the New Year.'
I am a dedicated and professional flute and guitar teacher and performer with 30 years of experience, including performing in numerous masterclasses with guitarists such as Craig Ogden, Gary Ryan, and Mark Ashford.
My main instruments are classical guitar and flute that I have taught to diploma level, but I also teach the electric guitar and ukulele. My flexible and friendly approach ensures that I obtain consistently high results.
I am a member of The Warwickshire Flute Ensemble and enjoy playing duets with another guitarist and also with a harpist. In addition, I regularly perform with 'Fretalis' Guitar Quartet and with my duet partner.
My love of teaching began with my first teaching job in St Lucia, the Caribbean, which included making a difference in the lives of those students who may not believe they had the potential to achieve.
I currently teach from my home teaching space located in the CV35 7TL area of Warwick. This is a great place to learn where you can feel comfortable and at home.
From experience, students who feel comfortable generally see better results & because of this, I go out of my way to create a relaxed environment for you to learn in.

Warwick is a small area but has a few really high-quality shops that are worth checking out. Here are some of my picks:
Presto Music is the best option if you are looking for an all-round music shop that stocks a wide range of different instruments. It's worth noting they have a great range of reasonably priced guitars for beginners. They are located on 7 Park St, Leamington Spa CV32 4QN.
A trip to Bass direct is obviously a great option if you happen to be a bass player. They stock a great range of both basses and amps for a wide range of different prices. You can find them on 12 Rigby Cl, Heathcote Industrial Estate, Royal Leamington Spa, Warwick CV34 6TH.
