Hi, my name is Luke Roberts and I am a professional guitar teacher offering high quality lessons to students of all ages and abilities in Welwyn Garden City and surrounding areas.
I am a professional guitar teacher who has been teaching guitar for over 10+ years now and I love what I do. I am enthusiastic about what I do and I have taught students from any age from 5 through to 75. It's never too early or too late to pick up a guitar and I am very keen on helping my students to achieve their guitar playing goals.
I pride myself on offering high quality lessons for everyone. I understand that younger learners will learn differently than adult learners. As such I will always adapt my teaching style and content to suit that individual student. My main teaching approach is to get to know you personally so I can ensure the lessons are packed with content that I know you will enjoy.

I am a passionate guitar teacher and have been teaching professionally now for over 10+ years. In this time I have developed a wide range of skills and have taught in three different established music schools as well as having many private students over the years. Being fortunate enough to work with so many students from so many different backgrounds has allowed me to grow not only as a performer myself but as a more versatile teacher too. I take pride in offering the highest quality lessons possible to allow me to share these skills with my students.
I take pride in trying to keep my lessons as relaxed and informative as possible. I find some teachers apply too much pressure on to a student and that this can actually become counter productive. I will always do my best to ensure that the lessons are moving at a pace that you're comfortable with as I feel this is a very important aspect for keeping the students interest when overcoming the challenges that we all face when learning an instrument.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
Having 10+ years of teaching experience means I have worked with students from all different backgrounds. I feel comfortable and confident helping any students of any ability.
Basic Songs, Introduction to Guitars, Simple Melodies and Tunes
In my years that I have spent teaching guitar I have been able to really hone in and fine tune my abilities both as a player myself and as a teacher too. I believe I am able to streamline the early stages of learning guitar in to a fun and stress free process. I know how important seeing results are, so I will always try and get the ball rolling as soon as possible.
I currently hold a Foundation Degree in Music Industry Entrepreneurship and a Music Technology AS Level. With my students I like to take a practical approach to teach guitar and encourage students to progress by learning songs that they love by the artists that they enjoy the most. I believe I am friendly and approachable and offer my students support in all areas of their musical journey.
In my experience this approach works especially well with younger learners as they enjoy hearing and learning songs they recognise from Movies, TV shows etc. I am able to teach Electric, Acoustic and Bass guitar if this interests you. As well as this I can also teach Piano and Ukulele to a basic level. I feel being a multi instrumentalist helps me provides the best all round lessons possible.
Harder Playing Techniques, Complex Theory, Complex Songs
My lessons are tailored and suitable for any guitar player from the Beginner to Intermediate Level. As a career musician I have experience composing and performing music in a real world band setting. This is something I do alongside my teaching and feel this has taught me how to not only be a better guitar player, but a better all round musician too.
I use these real world skills and experience in my lessons to offer insight in to the world of music theory, which is a very useful tool for developing your understanding of music even further and allowing you to make smarter choices as a musician. I have written music that has appeared on most Major UK TV channels and I currently perform around 75 gigs a year, at Corporate Functions and weddings.
I have also written and composed material that has been used in an educational setting and was designed for a Degree course that specifically focused on composition and arrangement. I'd like to believe that the fact I live and breath music in this way shines through not only in my playing but in my teaching style and approach also.

Herts Music Centre, is just a short drive away 6 Sphere Industrial Estate, Campfield Rd, St Albans AL1 5HT and is a great local business you could try for all things guitar.
Guitar Guitar, is a primarily online retailer (nearest store is in Camden) and has everything you would ever need to get started on guitar and more. Here you will find all the strings, cables and other accessories that you will need.
I am an enthusiastic and passionate guitar tutor here to help you to develop your guitar playing ability. I have taught in three different established music schools as well as having many private students over the years. This has allowed me to really hone my abilities as a tutor and develop the early stages of learning guitar into a streamlined but enjoyable process.

Lessons are £15 for half an hour or £30 for an hours tuition.
My lessons take place at my home studio in Welwyn Garden City in the AL7 1NS area. (full address would be provided upon booking your first lesson). I am also an online/mobile teacher, meaning lessons can be provided from the comfort of your own home.
I teach students of all ages 5+.
No you can attend lessons as and when you like. I would recommend one hour a week for the most consistent progress.
Any lessons cancelled within 48 hours can still be charged for. I am happy to reschedule cancelled lessons where possible.
