1/2 Hour Lessons

I recommend my half-hour lessons for students who prefer to learn in small doses. A couple of half-hour lessons per week is enough to see some good progress. I also recommend my half-hour lessons for young learners.

1 Hour Lessons

My hour lessons are the most popular option for my students and I would recommend these for anyone aged 10 and above. An hours lesson every week is enough to see some great progress over a few months.

What my students say

& why they love my piano lessons

Medg Sullivan

'Dan has proved himself to be a very popular teacher both with his students and with the parents. His style is such that he engenders confidence in his student’s ability to learn new pieces of work and compose their own pieces. I’m often complimented by parents on both the uniqueness of the programme, in terms of its focus on providing music lessons for low-income families and on the ‘greatness’ of the teachers – none more so than Dan.'

'Over the last four years, Dan has successfully prepared the children for their grades while teaching them to love playing the piano music of all sorts, from classical to jazz and pop. They always look forward to their lessons, especially the improvisation session at the end.'

About Your New
Piano Teacher

Friendly, helpful and focused on helping you to rapidly learn how to play the piano.

As well as studying classical piano growing up and achieving all of my grades, I studied at the London Centre of Contemporary Music and graduated with a BMus (Hons) in Music Performance and Production.

I love everything from classical to pop and jazz. This is always reflected in my teaching and I will always strive to teach you the styles that you love and enjoy.

I will always make sure we incorporate the music that you love to listen too during your lessons. I think that students who learn familiar music always tend to make faster learning progress.

I have a full CRB check & I am experienced in teaching young learners all the way to older more advanced learners.

Local Piano Teacher Tips:

Music Venues in Bristol:

Bristol has a great music scene with some amazing bands playing at the moment. Here are some of the best venues in town.

The Old Duke is a well know pub and venue which is really well known for hosting many Jazz nights. You can find them on 45 King St, Bristol BS1 4ER.

The 02 Academy is another amazing venue that is more focussed on bringing larger acts to play in the area. Check their show listings for upcoming gigs. They are located on Frogmore St, Bristol BS1 5NA.

Another more local feeling venue would be The Fleece where you can catch mostly rock & punk shows as well as a host of other genres. It is a great venue that I would recommend checking out. It's located on 12 St Thomas St, Bristol BS1 6JJ.

Well Known Bands & Artists From Bristol:

Bristol has long been known for producing some of the bests acts in the Uk. Here are a few that I would recommend.

Massive Attack is usually the first act that spring to mind as they are very widely known for their single "Teardrop" that has been featured in many movies and adverts. They don't like to be placed in one genre as you can really hear lots of different influences.

Portishead are another great act from Bristol who are very well known all over the world for their unique progressive style of music. They have charted on many occasions with various singles.
