Half an hour lessons. These are best suited to young learners and complete beginners that are having their first introduction to the piano.
One-hour lessons. These are best suited to students who are driven and want to practice and progress in a short space of time. I find one hour per week tends to allow for steady progress.
I have been teaching music now since 2015. Initially started whilst studying for my BA Hons at Anglia Ruskin University. Since then I've been able to teach, compose and perform alongside a wide range of musicians in all different styles. This experience allows me to pass on all the tips and tricks of the trade to help develop those piano playing skills.
In the lessons I will cover all elements from the basic to intermediate level. This includes things like how to read notation, chord charts, ear training, recording techniques, playing techniques and many others. All the information you'll need to get started or to develop your existing skills.
Depending on the age, or style of music the student may enjoy I always tailor my lessons to suit the individual as much as possible. I tend to find this helps motivate people and keep them driven when it comes to practising as they are playing material they enjoy.
Over the years I have performed in countless bands and projects. Most notably I have performed as part of a Jazz Funk group called Mode9. Working as part of this has seen us sell out venues in London, travel all around China and performing at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival in 2017. This experience has become invaluable when it comes to teaching others!
I teach the majority of my lessons from my dedicated teaching space located at Cambridge CB4 1RN. I feel this is a great space to come and develop your piano playing skills. I am also a mobile teacher happy to travel within a reasonable distance for the lessons.
You can see where I am located by looking at the map. My full address will be disclosed upon booking your first lesson with me.
