My Lessons

Classical, Jazz & Pop

I cover a wide range of different musical styles during my piano lessons, including classical, pop and jazz genres. My focus is helping my student to learn the music that inspired them to start playing the piano in the first place. This student lead approach enables me to ensure that my students really get the most out of their lessons, giving them the impetus to practice more often at home.

I am fun and friendly but also experienced; as well as making lessons enjoyable I also make sure that my teaching standard is as high as possible and that the student is getting as much as they can from their lessons.

My Experience as a Teacher

As well as a love for teaching music, I am also a music therapist and performer. I am trained in piano to a high level and have been playing since I was 5. As learning an instrument was available to me from such a young age, I strongly believe that music should be accessible to all, in whichever form it presents itself and I love to bring my joy for playing music to others.

I have experience in entering students for ABRSM exams and pride myself on having a 100% pass rate. I have a long history of performing in front of large audiences and have performed in prestigious venues in London, Leeds, Bournemouth, Birmingham, and Cardiff, as well as abroad.

I am most proud of my music therapy qualification achievement; on the course, we were able to explore all genres and improvisation styles. I was able to perform often with my cohort and as well as the course being extremely challenging it has furthered my professional development and lends itself perfectly to a career in music teaching.

More About My Lessons

I will always talk to my students before we begin lessons about the music they enjoy and what you expect to get out of the lessons. Once we have established this I will then make a lesson plan that suits your needs well.

The biggest aspect to getting somewhere when it comes to lessons is to enjoy them. With this in mind, I will always make sure my lessons are as enjoyable as they are informative so we can make some great progress together.

I have been teaching for many years and I will draw upon this experience to make sure you get the most out of every lesson. In my time playing and performing I have also gathered countless hours playing time, honing techniques that I pass onto my students to ensure they succeed. I am a music lover and this will always reflect in my teaching. When it comes to genres, I have no boundaries. Whatever you love we will always make sure and explore it when you are ready.
