I teach students from the age of 5 upwards and am keen to help beginners to progress rapidly on the piano. As an enthusiastic, experienced and well-qualified teacher, I hold a MusB from the University of Manchester alongside ABRSM Grade 8 in Piano.
Here is a quick summary of my piano lessons:

- Beginner & Intermediate Pianists Welcome
Students from across Oxfordshire attend individually tailored piano lessons at my home just off the Botley Road in Oxford (OX2 0DD) which has fantastic transport access from across the city.
I work hard to ensure that my students find enjoyment in their playing by providing a course of lessons that improves their technical ability, overall musicality and confidence on the piano. I am good at helping my students feel relaxed during our lessons and take an encouraging approach to help them progress.
I have experience helping a wide range of students to play the piano as beginners. Even if you have never sat at a piano before I would be delighted to help you learn to play. For intermediate pianists, I can offer lessons which work towards graded exams or provide fun, more relaxed tuition to help you to continue to improve. Lessons & Prices
I welcome students from the age of 5 upwards. For younger students, learning is approached in a fun and engaging way. Alongside technical grounding on the piano itself, a variety of musical games and activities are included in the lessons. With adult learners, I concentrate on helping them work towards playing the music they enjoy and I give carefully designed home tasks for each one of my students.
For more focused students, I am able to offer lessons to prepare for ABRSM exams (grades 1 to 5); however this is not compulsory, and many of my students simply like learning to play the piano for their own pleasure. Although classical music is where I draw most of my experience from, I am also able to offer piano lessons covering contemporary styles of playing. In any case, we will draw upon music from a wide range of different composers, styles and time-periods.
I charge £18 per half hour / £24 per three-quarters of an hour / £30 per hour.

“Philippa is very professional and has been able to reach out to our five-year-old without problems and to make it fun for her. We are very pleased with our choice” – Christina
