About Your New
Singing Lessons Teacher

Friendly, helpful and focused on helping you to rapidly learn how to sing.

I have been singing for as long as I can remember, achieving ABRSM qualifications in music theory and singing before going on to graduate with a masters degree in vocal performance from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. I have many years of experience in vocal performance, particularly enjoying my performances as part of an operatic chorus in recent years.

Over the years, I have enjoyed singing songs from all genres of music, and this has played an important part in developing my vocals. It is important to get exposure to many of the different singing techniques you find as you journey from genre to genre, so I will look to teach you a broad range of vocal skills in your lessons.

Singers are truly unique: no two singers are the same. We all have our individual sound, and as learners, we have our individual needs too. I take a lot of care to study the needs of each of my students and identify where they can improve.

As your singing teacher, my main objective is to see you achieve whatever goals you are setting yourself in music. Whether this be to learn one of your favourite songs, perfect a specific technique or to go on to have a career in singing, I am excited to be your teacher and play a part in your story.

Local Singing Teacher Tips:

Music Shops in Guildford:

Guildford is a fairly good place to be as a musician looking to find equipment. Andertons is the towns flagship music store, but the area is well-served by music shops in nearby towns and in London as well:

Andertons Music Co are found at 58-59 Woodbridge Road, GU1 4RF, and their store is Guildford's heart and soul when it comes to music. They have been in business for almost 70 years and provide all sorts of instruments and accessories. Vocalists will be pleased to know they have an abundance of recording microphones, interfaces and software to pick from.

ABC Music is found in the nearby Surrey town of Esher, and sell a number of P.A systems including microphones and digital recorders. They are a short drive from Guildford on the A3 and are located at 85 High Street, Esher, KT10 9QA.

Brittens Music is a short drive north of Guildford and are found just outside the M25 in New Haw at 13 The Broadway KT15 3EU. They stock amps and recording equipment as well as doing a rent-before-you-buy offering. Not all of their stock is listed on their website so you may want to ring up or pay them a visit to see what they have for sale.

Singing Courses in Guildford:

Having gone on to study Music myself, I believe a course in music is a fantastic way of developing your passion into a career within the industry. Guildford has a number of academic institutions that offer various types of music qualification:

The University of Surrey is one of the UK's leading universities for music, ranked 2nd by the Guardian University Guide 2019. Their degree course provides exposure to many aspects of music and production, and they are equipped with excellent performance, recording and teaching facilities.

The Academy of Contemporary Music Guildford offer both diploma and degree level music programmes, and their Guildford campus is kitted out with cutting-edge equipment and industry-standard practice facilities. The academy provides students with a collaborative environment: where performers, producers, songwriters, artists and entrepreneurs all operate under one roof.
