I am a professional singer and performing artist and have been singing ever since I was a little girl. I have a vast amount of professional singing/performing and touring experience. I take great pride in offering the highest quality singing lessons possible and love to share my skills with others. In my time teaching singing I have worked with students from all different age groups and all walks of life. I am comfortable and confident in working with any singing student.

As a teacher I believe it's very important that I am versatile and flexible in my teaching approach. I accept that no two singing students are ever the same as we all want and love different things about music. As such I will always tailor my lessons plans and adapt my teaching style to match and suit the needs of that individual. I will always take the time to get to know you to ensure you are learning material that keeps you excited and motivated when practising singing.

My Lessons

High Quality Singing Lessons

I currently work with any student from as young as 4+. I feel that it's never really too early or too late to start singing and it's something that anyone can do with the right training and guidance. Being someone who started singing from a young age there are many benefits to learning an instrument or music in general at any age, but especially as a child. It has been proven to help improve our memory, our coordination, our problem solving skills and a huge list of other abilities which are incredibly useful to take forward in life.

Together we will analyse your voice and current singing level to see where you are at. From here we will put together a list of your favorite songs/artists and we will study the techniques and skills involved in performing these styles. This ensures that you are always working through material that we know you enjoy but also allows you to grow and develop your singing voice as we go. Learning any instrument can be tricky sometimes so this approach really helps keep you motivated and driven over the course of the lessons.

My Experience as a Teacher

I am a professional singer and performing artist with a ton of real world experience. I have been fortunate enough to perform as part of an award-winning touring show. Back in 2016 I was a contestant on the TV talent show The X-Factor which then led on to me receiving a recording contract with Pacewell Entertainment and a performing contract with the I-Stage group which was a truly amazing experience.

On the back of these opportunities this led further on to 3 UK tours and a tour of Japan in 2019, where I was also a keynote speaker at the Kansai Music conference. Following this tour when I returned home we then received the National Entertainment Award for best Band/Vocal group. Following this more recently in 2020 I won the UK Karaoke Championships and then went on to represent the UK in the World Championships.

My origins are in musical theatre and I was a member of the Tyne Theatre Stage School from the age of 4 to 15, performing in multiple Brendan Healey productions at the Journal Tyne Theatre. I have a wealth of vocal and performance knowledge having graced the stage of many well-known venues, from productions across Theatres, music festivals to eventually selling out the Newcastle 02 Academy.

More About My Lessons

I am very passionate about singing and I believe it's something that is very rewarding and great fun to do. The main goal of my lessons is to provide you with all the tools and skills that you would need to be able to sing and perform any song that you want by your favorite artists. I am here to help you discover your singing voice and craft it in to the best it can be.

I feel comfortable and confident teaching and singing in just about any style or genre you can think of such as Pop, R&B, Swing and Musical Theatre. As well as providing singing tips I offer insight in to the musical theory and the behind the scenes of music too which not only helps you become a better performer but a better all round musician as well.

Most of my students tend to take regular weekly lessons with me but you can take lessons as little or as often as you would like. I find that one hour per week tends to offer the most consistent and best results for improving your singing voice. It's all very flexible and I am happy to work around you as best as I can so we can book lessons at times that suit you.

Many people ask me where can they go for all their musical needs such as microphones, headphones, PAs etc or maybe even just wanting to visit the local record shops or music venues. There aren't that many local music shops in Sunderland so here is a list of all the nearby places you can check out.

Alenia Music Art, is a great local stored which you can find at 253A High St W, Sunderland SR1 3DH. They offer a wide choice of musical instruments including microphones, PA's and all other singing equipment you would need.

The Bunker UK, is located 29 Stockton Rd, Sunderland SR2 7AQ and is a local recording studio that you can try if/when you're ready to start recording your singing voice. The Bunker is a huge part of the local music scene here.

Independent Sunderland, is one of the best local music venues in town. Here they have a huge selection of bands and artists who perform live music regularly. So if you're looking to check out some live music in the area then this is a great place to try.
