Teacher's Biography:

As a teacher, I believe in catering lessons to the student. Whether starting from scratch or developing an existing technique, I still work to make lessons fun while helping people improve. I have: given private and group lessons, run projects to help underprivileged children, taught at the Kodaly Institute in Hungary, The Sage Gateshead and taught at many festivals around the world. Having been tutored by a number of talented musicians such as Catriona MacDonald (Blazin’ Fiddles), Chris Newman and Stuart Hardy. I possess an intricate knowledge of my instruments to compliment an innate talent for passing it on.

"I am a novice at learning the violin and Chris is very patient with me. We have our lesson's via skype and they work very well. I would recommend Chris to anyone wanted to learn the violin. I like his style of teaching which is thorough and combines theory and practice." - Michaela (5/5):

"Enthusiastic genuine willingness to teach and get the very best of learning from my daughter while making it fun and enjoyable." - Brendan (5/5)

"Chris is a very patient, understanding and more importantly fun teacher. Within such a short time I became comfortable around him and felt more like a friend teaching me rather than a random stranger. His teaching techniques are excellent, with plenty of breaks and he does not mind when we go over the hour. Due to my work being abroad, I have no hesitation in recommending Chris and I am already thinking about the future lesson with him via Skype." -  Andy (5/5)

"My ten-year-old son is really enjoying his lessons with Chris. Chris has tailored the sessions well to fit in with his ability." - Vanessa (5/5)
