I am a professional guitarist with over 10 years of performing experience and a first class degree in Jazz Guitar from Leeds College of Music. Aside from being a guitar teacher I also write my own music which I perform in my own groups around the UK. I also tour with many bands including theatre shows, function/wedding bands, big bands, and original pop artists.
In addition to my private students, I teach within 4 different schools, both one-to-one and in groups of up to 10 students. I am experienced in teaching students from ages 4–50+ and believe that it is never too early or too late to pick up the guitar. I have guided my students through grades from exam boards including Rockschool, ABRSM, RGT, and Trinity. I also teach bass guitar, acoustic guitar, and ukulele.
By personalising lessons to my students’ individual needs and interests, lessons remain enjoyable and enable them to reach their full potential. Students are encouraged to bring their favourite music to study in the lessons. From there I take them through the necessary steps to achieve what they want to get out of playing the guitar. I teach a variety of genres, so why not tell me what music you want to be able to play and we can go from there!
