About |
I initially studied pipe band drumming to learn all the rudiments needed before studying the full drum kit. I first played with local pop bands in central Scotland and then left the country to play the drums in Jersey, Isle of Wight, Spain, and England.
I went on to become a Session Drummer in England working for the Beverley Agency and played in a variety of venues all over England. I returned to Scotland and enhanced my drumming experience by studying various other types of drum music under the guidance of Andy White from the BBC. I then studied how to read drum music under the guidance of the percussionist with the Scottish Symphony Orchestra. I still play with various bands when asked but now mostly teach.
My drum lessons are an hour long on a 1:1 basis and cover reading, playing, technique, and listening, using the following books: Dave Hassell Drums 1&2, Rock School Drums, Absolute Beginners Drums.
I have been taught by Andy White from BBC. Andy played on a version of ”LOVE ME DO” by the BEATLES and was producer George Martin’s studio drummer at Abbey Road.
Music Qualifications & Achievements:
- Drum tuition from the ex-professional drummer for all ages from beginners to advanced
