Mark is a professional musician and pianist based in Merseyside. Mark achieved a Distinction in Grade 8 when he was 16, and recently graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2017, achieving a 2:1 in Music. During his degree, Mark studied with renowned Liverpool pianist Tom Kimmance and has regularly performed professionally in venues across Merseyside.
As an experienced musical director and conductor, Mark has performed in musicals such as Pippin and Guys and Dolls, as well as arranging and conducting the university orchestra. Mark is a member of various function bands and has performed in numerous venues nationwide. Mark has recently appeared as an accompanist for Jason Manford on Radio 5 Live, as well as a pianist on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
Mark started having piano lessons with his mother at the age of 3, before asking to have a proper piano teacher! As a pianist for nearly 20 years, Mark has vast experience of performing with a variety of ensembles including choirs, jazz groups and orchestras.
Mark has over 6 years of teaching experience, from beginners to more advanced players. Mark also has experience in teaching various genres such as jazz, classical or popular music, (and anything that you would like to learn!)
As everyone will learn differently, Mark is able to adapt the lesson to suit the pupils' individual needs. Mark will be able to make the lesson fun and enjoyable and has a vast array of playable music to choose from. Mark is able to teach ABRSM Grades 1-8 but understands that this is not suited to every pupil and is able to adapt his style.
