Oren is in his 2nd year studying BA Music at The University of Southampton and is an accomplished lead guitarist having started playing at the age of 7 and gone on to develop as a teenager playing live venues and open mic sessions from the age of 14. His exposure to live music and performing has given his Rock, Funk, Blues and Soul playing its own unique and natural style.
He has been closely tied with several Blues artists since an early age and as a result, has been given opportunities to play in large events such as local Blues and Folk festivals. He is a member of an up and coming blues band who are gaining in popularity having played larger venues and festivals this summer.
He will be working on the band’s next album in the near future for launch in the spring next year. His core influences are blues guitarists Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King, John Lee Hooker and countless others.
Oren has much experience in teaching guitar both to individuals and small groups, having been a private teacher and youth worker for a music company. Here Oren was able to develop and adapt his teaching style to cater to a broad range of people in order to bring out the best in each individual and help them to reach their potential.
He has a natural, easy nature and recognises the importance of the individual and their specific learning requirements, be it beginner or advanced. Oren looks to make lessons interesting and fun whilst ensuring progression and development is maintained.
Oren can tutor students in both music performance and theory whether they are aiming towards achieving grades, preparing for recitals or auditions or simply playing the guitar for fun.
