Hello, I'm Emily and I'm a professional violinist and violin teacher in East Grinstead. I would be delighted to teach you how to play the violin.
I love to tailor my lessons to my individual students learning needs and musical goals. Together we can create a progress plan based on your favourite music and what you want to get out of the instrument.
Over the years I have gained a large amount of knowledge and experience performing and teaching in different styles, I teach in a variety of genres but I specialise in Classical, Contemporary music and exam preperations.

I can work with you to achieve your musical goals. I often work with my students preparing them for school entry exams alongside orchestral audition preparation and ensemble work where appropriate.
Alongside preparing student for grade examinations, I am happy to arrange lessons working towards personal goals. If you just want to progress and learn your favourite pieces on the Violin, I am happy to help you do this.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.

I have played the violin for over 25 years taking part in both solo, ensemble and orchestral work and performances.
I have been teaching for 17 years and teach a range of different styles and genres. I have many years of success in tutoring students through both ABRSM and Trinity Music exams and supplement lessons of those studying for practical exams with music theory.
I am a qualified music teacher, having achieved ABRSM Violin Grade 8, ABRSM Piano Grade 8, ABRSM Music Theory Grade 6.

I can offer you guidance, advice and mentorship on the violin. From playing your first note to your all time favourite pieces, I can guide you through your musical journey.
Together we can create a lesson plan tailored to you and your progress. We can work through your goals and favourite music to take fun and engaging lessons.
I pride myself on being a friendly yet focussed teacher. I like to keep lessons informal with a focus on fun while progressing rapidly over a shorter space of time.

Mcpherson Violins are located a short drive away at 17 Lambourne Cl, Crawley RH10 6JW. Mcpherson is a luthier crafting affortable and unique Violins with a focus on playability, his instruments are very easy to play and are perfect for beginner students.
TMC Music TMC Music Shop is located on 13 The Parade, Northgate Crawley, West Sussex, RH10 8DT. A musical instrument superstore in Crawley, West Sussex and is easily accessible from all over Surrey, Sussex, Kent, London and South East England. They stock a wide range of electric guitars, acoustic guitars, guitar amps, guitar FX, acoustic & electric drums, percussion, cymbals, keyboards, PA systems, microphones and music accessories! Try in person at the shop 6 days a week.

Lessons are £20 per half hour and £35 for an hour per lesson.
Lessons take place at my dedicated teaching studio in Dormansland RH7 6QP, just 15 minutes drive from East Grinstead. I am also able to offer online violin lessons.
I am delighted to offer my lessons to students of all ages and abilities from 5+.
I recommend all my students take lessons weekly for maximum progress in a shorter space of time. However I am happy to accomodate fortnihglty lessons.
At Violin Lessons East Grinstead we operate a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel a a lesson please give me 48 hours notice. If a lesson is cancelled within 48 hours of the start date there is cancellation fee of a full lesson price.
