Book professional violin lessons with local teacher Oliver Lewis.
Hello! My name is Oliver Lewis and I am a professional violin tutor located in Hemel Hempstead.
I offer violin lessons in a wide range of styles and genres.
As a teacher, I love to always maintain a high quality of tuition for all of my students.
Although I do have a wide range of experience when it comes to teaching all ages, I am currently only offering my lessons to both teenagers and adults.
I am a music lover and I like to reflect this in my teaching style. I mostly teach classical but can go into other genres if you wish.
I have been playing since age 8 & have years of teaching experience as well.
Professional Violin lessons available in half-hour or hour-long sessions.
I would recommend my half-hour lessons for those who want to have a few taster lessons to see if learning the violin is for them or perhaps if you have a very busy schedule.
An hour-long lesson is probably the best option for anyone who wants to see some fast progress & for anyone who really has the drive to improve their playing.
I am an experienced player who has been playing since I was 8 years old and since then I have had everything from live experience to experience in composing & anything else you can think of.
In October 2010 I became the Guinness Book of Record’s World’s Fastest Violinist, after playing the Flight of the Bumblebee faster than any other violinist in history, live on BBC One's Blue Peter. I broke this record again in 2011 on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in the US.
I have appeared in both films and commercials, playing the concert violinist lead role in a series of Europe-wide TV adverts for Opel cars, the featured violinist in two Christmas TV commercials for M&S and was featured in the Cadburys Olympics TV commercial. .
My teaching space is in an easy to find location which I will disclose upon booking a lesson with myself. If you have any questions please send me an email.
I take the majority of my lessons from my home teaching space on King Edward St, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 0AE. This is a great place where you can really feel comfortable whilst learning to play.
I will disclose my full address upon booking your first lesson.
Music Shops in Hemel Hempstead:
Hemel Hempstead is only a small town so options when it comes to music shops can be quite limited. Here are the couple of shops we do have available in the area.
Chiltern Piano Gallery Is the best option if you happen to be a piano player. They have a wide range of both new and used pianos as well as a good collection of sheet music. You can find the shop at 88 High St, Bovingdon, Hemel Hempstead HP3 0HN.
Secondly I would recommend The British Heart Foundation. Although not a music store as such, they often have a few second-hand instruments available at stealable prices. Make sure to check from time to time. You can find them on 214 Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead HP1 1BH.
Music Venues in Hemel Hempstead:
Hemel Hempstead again is only a small area but there are a few good options when it comes to live music and here they are.
The Odd Fellows Arms is probably the best place to be if you are looking for a great local pub with live music in the evenings. They have regular live performances throughout the week. The pub is located on 113 London Rd, Hemel Hempstead HP3 9SP.
Boxmoor Hall is another option in the area. This place is more of an event venue and will usually have some kind of performance every month. Check their website for full listings. You can find it on St John's Rd, Hemel Hempstead HP1 1JR.
Do not hesitate to get in touch. I am always accepting new students.
