Hi everyone, My name is Rachael Meadows & I'm a professional violin teacher based in Liverpool offering high quality lessons to students of all ages. What make my lessons stand out in the crowd is that I will always tailor each lesson differently depending on who is taking it. I understand that all students have different goals & different ideas when it comes to learning to play. My lesson plan will be built around the songs you enjoy, the areas you want to improve as well as a solid backing of musical theory so that you can both read and understand what you're playing.

My Mission

Exciting Lessons

My lessons are tailored to every students needs but as well as understanding the importance of this, I also see the importance of enjoyment and I want all of my students to enjoy learning to play the violin. My lessons are easy to understand and are always taken in a fun manner. I like to build a strong relationship with students and this way we can really push forward in terms of what you want to learn and make substantial progress in your playing.

My lessons can go in a wide variety of directions. I can help you with everything from Theory, song work, understanding, song writing, technique and much more. I like to make sure we get together and decide on a direction that you want to learn in before the lessons begin. This way I can make sure we work in a direction that you enjoy whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail. I will always make sure my students pick up good technique and a positive playing style.

Mobile Lessons Available

I like to offer my students plenty of options when it comes to learning. Although I do teach from home, I can also travel to your home in Liverpool for our lessons together. I think that feeling comfortable whilst learning is key to making good progress when learning a new instrument. Learning to play the violin isn't easy and if a student feels more comfortable learning from their own home then this is something that I would recommend.

As well as helping improve your playing. I can also help you build confidence in yourself and your ability. I have done this countless times with other students and even to the point where many of my students have gone on to be professional players. I will help you gain confidence in your own ability and help you get to the stage where you feel comfortable playing in front of others which i understand, is really not easy to begin with.

My Experience as a Teacher

I have had a lifelong passion for performing and music. This is something I would love to pass on to all of my students as they learn to play the piano.

I have a degree in music as well as a tonne of performing experience. I have been lucky enough to travel and perform all over the UK and Europe during my time as a player. I use this experience to make sure you're always on the right track with your learning and playing.

I have taught in many schools as a peripatetic strings teacher for various local authority music services throughout the Northwest. I taught the violin and viola for several years and I taught at two private schools in Liverpool.

More About My Lessons

I particularly enjoy teaching on a private basis now and some of my pupils have gone on to become professional performers and teachers themselves in London and Germany.

I teach all levels from beginner to diploma standard and I can prepare pupils for Associated Board Examinations and GCSE performance. I teach age ranges from 6+ to adult. Students can learn for fun, take exams or enhance their portfolio prospects for college or university.

I have achieved a wide range of things during my time as a musician including Music degree. Graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Certificate in Education in teaching music. The Manchester College of Higher Education, Associated Board Examinations Violin Grades 8, 7 and 5 Distinctions, Associated Board Examination Piano Grade 5 Merit, Associated Board Examination Grade 5 Theory Distinction & much more.
