Learn violin with experienced violinist, Harriet Bill
Hello! My name is Harriet Bill and I am a professional violin teacher based in London.
I teach classical violin to students aged five and upwards
I achieved grade 8 violin when I was 14 and got my ACTL diploma aged 17. As well as grade 8 music theory, a DipLCM on piano and a music degree from King's college London, I'm currently studying for an MA.
I teach students of all ages. Having started to learn violin when I was very young, I teach children aged five and up!
With a wealth of classical training and experience, I help students learn the correct technique, theory and approach to successfully play classical violin.
I am a mobile teacher, so, depending on where in London you're based, I'll come to you.
Competitively priced violin lessons, that come to you.
Half hour lessons are ideal for beginners and young children, focusing on one key aspect at a time.
One hour lessons are great value and give you extra time to perfect the foundation of your technique before practicing yourself.
I've played at venues including Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall and Cadogan Hall. I've also played alongside members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and The Philharmonic Orchestra.
I've achieved grade 6 Electronic Keyboard and Musical Theatre qualifications, as well as grade 8 Violin and Music Theory. I have a Violin ATCL, a Piano DipLCM and a BMUS from King's College London. I'm currently studying towards an MA at Trinity Laban Conservatoire.
I teach students of all ages and levels of experience. Whether you're just starting out on the violin, looking to refine a specific aspect of your technique or working towards your next grade, I can help!
I'm a mobile teacher, so if you're within my teaching area I'll come to you! Saving you the trouble of packing and bringing your instrument and music to your lessons.
Learning at home means you're in a comfortable and familiar environment and you won't need to travel with your instrument or music. I'm a mobile teacher, so all you need to do is make sure you're in!
Violin Shops in London:
London obviously has a really diverse set of stores when it comes to music shops. Here, however, are some of my favourite violin based shops in London.
First up is JP Guivier & Co Ltd. This place has a great selection of violins on offer as well as some really friendly staff who will help you with anything you may need. They also offer repairs. You can find them on 99 Mortimer St, Marylebone, London W1W 7SX.
Secondly I would recommend Benjamin Hebbert Violins Ltd. This is an independent Violin maker where you can even get something made to your own specifications. They have even worked with museums in the past sourcing instruments.
Bridgewood and Neitzert are the last shop I will mention. This particular place specialises in selling second-hand instruments. If you are looking to pick up a great deal then this is the place to go.
Music Venues in London:
London has long been known for having a vibrant music scene. Here are some of the most well-known venues in the area
The Roundhouse is one of the best known venues for live music & can be found in Camden Town, London NW1 8EH. This venue plays host to a tonne of amazing touring acts all year round.
The Royal Albert Hall is one of the most recognisable venues in the whole world and has played host to almost everyone over the years. You can find it on Kensington Gore, South Kensington, London SW7 2AP.
Lastly The 02 is a venue that accommodates everything from pop acts to comedy acts & everything in between. It also hosts a wide range of different events. You can find them on Peninsula Square, Greenwich Peninsula, London SE10 0DX.
I'd love to help you learn violin or improve your playing. Get in touch to take your first steps towards playing better classical violin!
