Teacher’s Biography:

Tim is a professional musician and teacher based in Baldock, Hertfordshire area. Tim graduated with a music degree from York University in 2013 and has over 8 years of teaching experience working with pupils of all ages and abilities. Whilst at university he received classical piano tuition from concert pianist Sarah Beth Briggs and jazz tuition from the widely acclaimed jazz pianist John Taylor. He also holds a Diploma in piano performance from the ABRSM.

Since graduating Tim has been involved with a range of musical ventures as a performer, composer and musical director. He has performed in various jazz and function ensembles all over North Yorkshire and is an experienced cocktail pianist. He has also held the post of organist at St Thomas Church and Trinity Methodist Church and accompanied the York Theatre Royal and St Thomas Gospel Choirs. Aside from playing, he has been the musical director for local pantomimes and musicals and has scored original music for a number of short films and productions.

Tim is experienced in teaching a variety of styles including classical, jazz and popular, as well as improvisation and learning to play by ear. Lessons are tailored to suit the pupil’s aims, whether it’s to progress through grades or simply learn for fun.

Music Qualifications / Achievements:

• DipABRSM in Piano Performance
• BA (Hon) in Music from the University of York (2:1)
