Street Orchestra Live / SOL
We are excited to let music teachers and students know that this summer Street Orchestra Live (SOL) will be touring in the Newcastle area. Even more exciting is that you could be a part of this!
SOL is a versatile orchestra playing music from all times and styles and trying to do that everywhere, for anyone. They especially aim to play to people who are deprived from live music, thus doing plenty of performances in places such as hospitals, prisons, nursing homes, schools, but also stations, shopping malls etc. The players are 40 students, mostly from music colleges, but we have some advanced amateurs as well.
Every tour we take a vocal soloist with us to perform a few songs, ideally in as many different styles as possible. If you are an interested vocalist or can recommend a musician from the north-east that would suit the orchestra then don’t hesitate to get in touch with SOL – all contact details can be found below.
